Brown Statement On Presidential Veto Of Water Resource Development Act
November 2, 2007
Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown (D-OH) released the following statement on today’s presidential veto of the Water Resource Development Act:
“I am extremely disappointed by the president’s veto today. Instead of funding improvements for America’s deteriorating infrastructure, the president used his fifth veto of the year to once again leave middle class families behind. The Water Resource Development Act is bipartisan legislation that includes many vital projects for Ohio, including flood mitigation efforts and initiatives for the Great Lakes. Today was a step backward for economic development in our country, but I hope next week Congress will move forward and override the president’s veto.”
