At Marysville Plant, Brown Joins Honda Highlighting New Investments at Ohio Honda Plants

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) today joined leaders and workers from Honda to help highlight the $355 million in investments that the automaker has made at Ohio’s four Honda facilities. Brown viewed construction of a $64 million stamping press under construction at the Marysville facility and discussed other investments at Honda facilities in East Liberty, Anna, and Russells Point.

“More than 150 Ohio manufacturers supply parts to Honda, which employ more than 10,000 Ohioans," Brown said.  “Honda’s Ohio facilities and workers represent the innovation and productivity of our state. Investing in them means a company investing in its strength. In Ohio our strength is in auto manufacturing.”

Honda has more than 150 Ohio supplier companies employing more than 30,000 workers. The Marysville Auto Plant opened in November 1982 and employs more than 4,000 workers who produce 440,000 vehicles each year. Originally building only Accords, the plant today is the only global manufacturer of the Honda Accord Coupe and Sedans, the Acura TL, and the Acura RDX, while also building more than 90 percent of the Honda Accord Sedans sold in America.
